Great Mother

This my second blog post, and I like to apologize for not following the teacher’s instructions. So this week’s blog post is very difficult, we need to find someone’s blog to read, and write a summary. Fortunately, Carolyn Wells, who is great blogger, has 50859962 followers. Her blog’s name is “When Time Costs Too Much” and it attracts me. This article talks about a great mother who loves her kids, and needs to bear the stress of life and work. In the U.S, many mothers need to work until two weeks before giving birth. After that, they take a rest for a very short time, and they return to work soon after. For example, many families choose to send their children to early education or day care because some of them need to work. Also many families choose to take care of their own children by themselves because the money they earned is almost the same as the cost for daycare. Also, she talked about her friend’s story and shared it with every one of her followers. She has a friend who is a single mother with a four year old son and she makes $50000 a year. After spending on her rent and living expenses, she has no money left and that makes her to apply for government subsidies. Her friend is having a very difficult time, but she never gave up. She tried to find a second job and used her free time to accompany her son. I think she is a great and positive mother. When I read this article, I felt very helpless, and society is cruel. In this diverse society, everyone has their own story and we have to learn from this single mother about how she faces her difficult life who gives her best to her child.

  1. Thank you Susana for revising your blog. This sounds like a very common story for many single mothers in the US. I too was a single mother when my children were 3 and 6 and I worked a job every weekend (when their father took care of them), and I took care of the children and worked during the week. I never had a day off! It was a really difficult life, but my children grew up knowing the value of hard work, and they are both now as adults, very responsible.
